This month sees the Coffs Harbour Branch putting some finishing touches to bee hotels that are to be installed in bushfire affected areas as part of Kit Prendergast’s ‘Bee hotels to boost bees after bushfire’ research project.
It’s exciting, as a new and small branch, to be involved in a world first Australia-wide citizen science effort that is being supported by a Federal Government Bushfire Recovery Grant secured by the ANBA. Kit’s tutorials on her YouTube channel are an excellent resource and we look forward to following her work in this important area. Below are photographs of a member’s bamboo bee hotel that is being installed on a Nana Glen property this month.
