The Cassowary Coast branch has been taking a break over the Christmas and New Year period. We hope to meet again in either late February or early March. A few things have happened while we have been on a break.
In early December, The Cassowary Coast Council began planning for a small revegetation project at Wongaling Beach. With input from the Cassowary Coast Branch, it was decided that pollinator friendly trees that flower successively throughout the year would be planted. A list of potential trees for the project is currently being collated by our branch and C4 Community for Coastal and Cassowary Conservation, and we are also hoping to involve the Cassowary Coast branch in the planting and care of the trees. More on this at our first meeting for the year. Keep an eye on your emails and our Facebook events for details.
Lastly, the renos at Zoe’s house have continued. Take a look at what was happily thriving behind one of the walls. No wonder the house was buzzing!
